As a pharmacist, I take great pride in healing others. But doctorate aside, I have no culinary training, I am not a chef. I do, however, have a passion for creating food, and crafting recipes, and I’ve come to realize that sometimes food is the best medicine.
Homesick? Pull out that 15 year old recipe card with your mother’s handwriting and spend a couple of hours in the kitchen baking her lasagna.
Hangover? One too many glasses of wine at book club? Sleep in until 10:30, then indulge in the healing powers of huevos rancheros, a simple recipe thats not going to worsen your headache, and let those spices and runny yolks sop up the booze from the night before.
SICK sick? Feel a cold brewing? Toss together your leftover veggie scraps and let the power of bone broth work its magic.
Creating food is my happy place, and the kitchen has healed me more times than I can count. That is why I want to share with you my tips, my tricks, my secrets, my recipes, and most importantly, the prescriptions in my pantry.
